Overview
Following the launch of the GBD Research Centre, NUS and IHME are hosting an intensive four-day GBD Regional Workshop. Led by expert faculty from IHME, this programme is designed for professionals across government, academia, and health systems in the ASEAN region.
What You Will Learn
This workshop offers a practical introduction to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study, equipping participants with the tools to translate data into action. Key focus areas include:
- GBD Fundamentals: Understanding core methods and analytical frameworks.
- Policy Application: Interpreting GBD results to inform evidence-based policy and practice.
- Data Systems: Examining regional challenges regarding health data availability and quality, and exploring opportunities to strengthen health information systems.
Building Regional Capacity
Through interactive sessions and peer exchange, the workshop fosters sustained collaboration among government agencies, academic institutions, and technical experts. Our goal is to strengthen the region’s capacity for high-level health analysis, policy translation, and practical applications.
